Starting from Thessaloniki, visiting Mount Athos, Kavala, Meteora, Pilion ending to Athens
DAY 1: Arrival at the airport of Thessaloniki. Transfer to the nunnery of St. John the Theologist in Souroti, where the tomb of Elder Father Paisios of Mount Athos. Later, transfer to the beautiful city of Serres and visit the monastery of St. Paraskevi, carrying eight centuries of history. Back to Thessaloniki, settle in our hotel, dinner and overnight.
DAY 2: Breakfast and departure to visit the Monastery of St. George Karslidi in Sipsa, the monastery of Kosifinissa and the monastery of St. John the Baptist and St. Panteleimon in Chrysokastro of Kavala. Stop for a coffee or lunch by the sea, at the beautiful city of Kavala. Back to Thessaloniki, dinner and overnight.
DAY 3: Breakfast and departure to Ouranoupolis, where we board the boat for a day cruise around Mount Athos, until we reach the hermitage of St.Anna. On our way back to Thessaloniki, we visit the monasteries of St. John the Baptist, of Transfiguration of The Saviour, St. Arsenius and Ormylia. Arrival at our hotel in Thessaloniki, dinner and overnight
DAY 4: Breakfast in the hotel and visit for pilgrimage to the holy cathedral church of Saint Demetrius and the church of Saint Gregory Palamas. We leave Thessaloniki and continue to Veria, to end up later at the picturesque town of Edessa, where we visit the famous waterfalls. Later, we take the road that leads south to the beautiful Kalambaka at the foot of the amazing mountains of Meteora, where we settle in our hotel. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 5: Breakfast in the hotel and we take the road uphill to Meteora. There we visit the Monastery of the Great Meteoro and St. Stephen’s and admire this magnificent natural wonder of this strange phenomenon called Meteora. Leaving it behind us, we head to Volos, where we worship the Holy Belt of our Lady Mary, at Xenia monastery. Later, transfer to our hotel in Volos. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 6: Breakfast and transfer to the picturesque Portaria village with the traditional buildings. Visit to the Monastery of Virgin Mary The Odigitria. Later we go to beautiful village Makrynitsa, also known as “the balcony of Pelion”, where we can walk upon the cobblestone streets and enjoy panoramic view of the Aegean. Then we take the road to the historical city, the mother of democracy, Athens. Arrival, check in at our hotel, dinner and overnight.
DAY 7: Breakfast in the hotel and departure to the port of Piraeus, where we board the ship, to the island of Aegina. There, we worship the tomb of the great saint of the 20th century, St. Nektarios. Then we can have lunch (optional) by the sea, at the port of Aegina, before boarding the ship back to Piraeus. Arrival, and departure for the airport of Athens.
